متن کوچکی از پروژه: سال 43 سال عقب نشینی آلمان در جبهه شرق بود. فاشیسم در ایتالیا در ماه جولای سال 43 به زانو درآمده و موسولینی (رهبر ایتالیا) بعد از 21 سال حكومت استعفا داد. دولت بعدی ابتدا اعلام بیطرفی كرد. اما فشار آمریكا از یك سو و اقدام آلمان در عملیات چریکی برای نجات موسولینی از بند، از سوی دیگر، ایتالیاییها را به حمایت از متفقین مجبور كرد تا دشمنی به دشمنان هیتلر اضافه شود. اما همچنان سربازان آلمانی شمال ایتالیا را در دست داشتند. از ابتدای سال 44 حدود 6 ماه جنگ بین آلمان و متفقین در ایتالیا ادامه یافت تا اینکه ارتش هیتلر مجبور به عقل نشینی کامل گشت. هماهنگی عجیب شوروی، انگلیس و آمریكا و امضای قرارداد ملل متحد دیگر مشکل هیتلر بود. چرچیل نخست وزیر بریتانیا در نطقی در پارلمان در سال 41 گفت "اختلافات تئوریك من و استالین به جای خود اما از امروز تا پایان جنگ، دشمن مشترك انگلیس و شوروی، فقط هیتلر است. جنگ ما با كمونیسم بماند برای بعد" در سال 44 اوضاع بد آلمان غیر قابل تصور بود. نیمی از نیروی زمینی در جبهه شرق، نیمی در ایتالیا. نیروی دریایی در کانال مانش (انگلستان) و دریای شمال. ضمن اینكه نهضتهای مقاومت در كشورهای مختلف بخصوص فرانسه و بلژیك بر مشكلات هیتلر افزوده بود. نیروی هوایی قدرتمند آلمان در این سال شكست خورده و جنگندههای انگلیسی موفق شدند انتقام بمب بارانهای سالهای قبل را گرفته و برلین را بلرزانند. در ژوئن 1944 آمریكا هم رسما با حمله به سواحل نورماندی فرانسه تحت اشغال، به شکل مستقیم با آلمان رودررو شد. ارتش سرخ در اواخر سال 43 كیف را تصرف كرده و در فوریه 44 به سمت لهستان و رومانی پیشروی كرد. فرانسه، هلند و بلژیك با كمك آمریكا آزاد شده و متفقین از غرب به مرزهای آلمان رسیدند. شوروی هم كشورهای اروپای شرقی را یك به یك نه آزاد بلكه به تصرف خود در آورد. از نظر مردم کشورهای اروپای شرقی یعنی لهستان، بلغارستان، فنلاند، چكوسلواكی، یوگسلاوی و رومانی تفاوتی بین فاشیسم و كمونیسم وجود نداشت اما آنها توان آغاز جنگی دوباره را نداشتند. در اکتبر سال 44 پاریس آزاد شد.
